A confident move to Shopify.
Without rattling
the business that pays the bills.
4Seating is your bread and butter — and the last thing we want is to scare returning customers mid-purchase with a brand they don't recognise. This v2 reframes the engagement: platform migration first, visual evolution second. Every design choice protects the trust you've built over 20 years.
V1 was bold. V2 is careful.
The v1 proposal framed this as a flagship rebuild — dark cinematic brand, new visual world, big swing. You loved the thinking, but the risk felt too high. Your customers recognise 4Seating. Changing that overnight is how a brand quietly bleeds trust mid-migration.
So we've inverted the emphasis. V2 leads with the platform move — Magento to Shopify, SEO preserved, zero customer confusion — and treats design as a measured evolution of what you already have. Think the Seatcraft aesthetic applied to 4Seating's world: cleaner, lighter, more whitespace — but unmistakably your brand.
Same directions — now in light.
You liked the three logo directions from v1, but asked to see them on white instead of dark — so they feel closer to your current site and the Seatcraft aesthetic. Same thinking, cleaner presentation. The "4" anchor stays recognisable to every returning customer.
Three moods. All light. All evolutionary.
You asked for directions closer to your current site — white, whitespace-forward, clean. Three light-led options below, each an evolution of the 4Seating you already have. The "Clean Continuity" option is what we'd recommend for lowest brand risk.
Clean Continuity
White canvas, ink-black type, warm cream accent, generous whitespace. Mirrors the new Seatcraft aesthetic — so the two brands feel related but distinct. Closest visual cousin to your current site, just sharpened and breathing. Lowest perceived change for returning customers.
Warm Editorial
Cream-tinted canvas with darker ink, editorial typography rhythm. Aesop-meets-Restoration-Hardware. Still unmistakably light and calm, but with more personality than pure white. Slightly warmer than Clean Continuity.
Cinema Accent
Majority white site, but dark "cinema rooms" — key pages (collections, the design service page, editorial content) use a dark cinematic accent. Best-of-both-worlds: continuity on transactional pages, drama where the brand can stretch.
The new 4Seating.com, homepage.
Direction shown: Clean Continuity. Same 4Seating DNA — hero imagery, trusted brand row, collections, editorial storytelling, customer reviews — rebuilt with Seatcraft-level polish and generous whitespace. Nothing a returning customer wouldn't still recognise.

From custom Magento
to future-proof Shopify.
This is the section that matters most — and the reason we reframed the proposal. 4Seating.com is the business that keeps the lights on. The migration has to be surgical: every URL preserved, every customer session protected, every pound of SEO equity carried across.
We just did this
for Seatcraft.
Seatcraft.com — your sister brand — is live on Shopify right now, redesigned and rebuilt by our team. Same industry, same customer type, same kind of custom legacy stack. It's the proof case for exactly what we're proposing for 4Seating.
The Seatcraft playbook — the URL map, the redirect rules, the Shopify theme architecture, the third-party integrations, the staged cutover — is already written. We're not inventing it for you; we're re-applying a plan we've already run end-to-end for your own group.
What makes our migrations different: we treat SEO as a first-class engineering problem — mapped, tested, staged, and monitored — not a post-launch cleanup task. The goal isn't to "minimise" traffic loss. It's to target zero.
Zero traffic loss is the goal — not the hope.
Full crawl & equity audit
Screaming Frog + Ahrefs deep crawl of 4seating.com. Every URL, every backlink, every page with traffic is inventoried before we touch a thing.
URL parity & redirect mapping
One-to-one redirect map from Magento → Shopify, including legacy category structures, product URLs, and any old CMS pages that still earn backlinks.
On-page parity
Meta titles, descriptions, H1s, schema markup, canonicals and internal links migrated faithfully — with optimizations layered on top, not replacements.
Staged cutover
We launch on a staging domain, re-crawl, fix edge cases, then DNS-switch in a low-traffic window. Rollback plan ready the entire time.
Post-launch monitoring
Daily GSC monitoring for 30 days, weekly for 90 days. Crawl errors fixed same-day. You see exactly what's happening, in a live dashboard.
Your customers should
barely notice we were here.
Your biggest concern from v1: "what happens to the returning customer who was shopping last week, comes back mid-migration, and sees a site they don't recognise?" The answer is engineering, comms, and a staged cutover. Here's how we protect them.
Visual evolution, not revolution
The new 4Seating keeps the "4" anchor, the whitespace-led layout, the same navigation structure, and the same product photography style. A returning customer sees a tidier version of the site they know — not a new brand.
Brand continuityZero-downtime cutover
We launch on a staging domain, run full QA and crawl parity checks, then DNS-switch in a low-traffic window (typically 2–4am Sunday PT). No maintenance page. No "site under construction." Customers never see a broken experience.
No dark hoursAccounts, orders & carts preserved
Every customer account, every order history row, every active cart migrates across. Returning customers log in with the same credentials; past orders and re-order buttons still work. They won't know they're on Shopify unless they check the footer.
Zero customer re-registerStaged comms plan
A warm-up email 2 weeks before launch ("a few small upgrades"), a heads-up day-of-launch, and a post-launch "here's what's new" nudge. Never alarming. Never a re-launch fanfare. Active Klaviyo flows keep running through cutover.
Calm, proactive commsSide-by-side rollback ready
The Magento store stays live (on a hidden URL) for 30 days post-launch. If anything unexpected breaks — it doesn't, but if — we can flip DNS back within 15 minutes. The safety net is wired the entire time.
15-min rollbackHuman support in the launch window
Nick and a senior SD engineer are on Slack with your team for the full 72 hours around cutover. Customer service scripts prepped. Any ticket that hints at a migration issue gets routed straight to us within minutes.
72-hr SD watchEight quiet upgrades
that sell more chairs.
The rebuild isn't about changing what 4Seating is — it's about removing friction where your customers already want to buy. These eight CRO plays are baked into the Shopify build, not bolted on. Each one is a small, familiar improvement — never a surprise.
Configurator-style PDP
Visual swatches, live price updates, upgrade chips. Reduces decision friction and naturally surfaces high-margin upsells (power headrest, lumbar, storage).
+12–18% AOVFinancing front and center
Every price displays the monthly payment alongside the sticker price. Affirm/Klarna integration signals affordability before hesitation kicks in.
+8% conversionDesign Call CTA
Dedicated "Book a Design Call" path captures high-intent, high-AOV customers who want hand-holding. Routes straight to your team, pre-qualified.
+Lead qualitySticky mobile add-to-cart
Mobile-first sticky bar with price, CTA, and financing. 60%+ of home theater research happens on mobile — the current site punishes that behavior.
+15% mobile CVRTrust stack on PDP
Warranty, white-glove, reviews, in-stock status — all clustered at the point of decision, not buried in tabs. Reduces the "I need to check" drop-off.
−Hesitation dropProtection plan upsell
Cart-stage protection plan offer ($199 typical attach). High-margin add-on that costs nothing to deliver and builds post-purchase confidence.
+$180 AOVCollection storytelling
Collections aren't grids — they're editorial. Hero imagery, short brand story, then products. Converts browsers into buyers on ambiguous intent.
+Session depthPost-purchase upsell flow
Thank-you page becomes a merchandising moment — accessories, cup holders, LED kits, cleaning. Most stores leave this revenue on the floor.
+4–6% revenueHow we'll get there.
A 3–4 month engagement structured in four phases, each with clear deliverables, checkpoints, and decisions for your team. Migration work runs in parallel from Phase 01 — so we're not saving the risky part for the end.
